One thing we were asked as soon as issue 7 came out was “When will see Reynard City Chronicles issue 8?” Well, first of all here is a little announcement trailer for you.
In case you missed it, here is the cover. WARNING! If you haven’t read the previous issues we recommend reading them (especially issue 7) for context, otherwise we’ll try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible!

So to keep things as broad as possible- Reynard City Chronicles issue 8 is the first in a two-part finale, as a well-intended move on AK Girl’s part results in terrible consequences, not just for the team but for potentially
existence as we know it!
So when can we expect to see it?
Our aim for this issue is September 2024, ideally in time for the Norcon 2024 sci-fi con. This time around we have both our table and hotel pre-booked, so really looking forward to seeing you all there so we can chat about this in person!
Of course, this is not a guarantee- a big way to help ensure we get this issue out there is to keep supporting the comic so we can keep supporting the artists involved!
Issue 7 animated trailer update
https://ko-fi.com/reynardcity/goal?g=27
We are currently at 27% (just over a quarter) of our £1000 goal. We have started working with voice actors on the audio and this will be passed on to our awesome animator Jimferno. By backing this, you will allow us to support all the incredible creative talent on board.
But it’s also more than that (and this does tie in with issue 8!) If we hit this target and produce this animated trailer, it sends out a message. People have asked “When will we see a Reynard City animated series?”
For the longest time, I dreamed of this being a series on something like HBO Max or Netflix. But there is also a conflict- The Coyote v Acme situation is a sad reminder of how some influential people do not appreciate animation as a medium, which is a shame as recently we’ve had some incredible animated projects- the likes of Nimona, The Boy and The Heron and Across The Spiderverse were all phenomenal.
I know there were crunch issues with the latter, which is another issue- I don’t want that for people involved with this. As much as possible I want to be fair with deadlines and let people do their creative work in a way that fits in with their lives.
By backing this animation project, by hitting this target, you let people know “We want this.” As Reynard City Chronicles comes to an end with issue 9 next year, if you want the next step please show your support. People with more experience than me have left me in no doubt of the scale involved in producing indie animation. Before we even talk about pilots or series, we need to take this first step to show people we can do this!
Thank you
So many incredible people have made this project possible. Please take a moment to see our special thanks and Meet The Team playlists so you can learn more about the incredible people who have allowed us to produce this comic series.
