Our Reynard City Gift Guide 2025 is here to help you with some gift buying inspiration- whether it’s Christmas, Hannukah, an upcoming birthday or you just want to brighten someone’s day because you’re that darned nice here’s some gift tips and suggestions you may not have thought of!

Alongside “the customer is always right” (side note- the full quote is “the customer is always right in matters of taste”) the phrase “it’s the thought that counts” is often the most misquoted/misunderstood phrase.
While remembering to buy someone a gift is important the thought is about how much you have tried to find something that you think someone will like. This doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive- the most expensive power drill in the world won’t be the best gift for someone who isn’t in to DIY and likewise a find in a charity shop that you know someone will like can have massive value.
If you know someone who likes intense, thrilling books then Writer by JM Burgoyne is a great gift!
If you’re anything like me then your gift wrapping skills may be…unorthodox. Gift bags and boxes are a good way to distract from bad wrapping (or you can just tape the box down and not bother with the gift wrap. A nice card on top helps make it more personal!)

Edward Couzens-Lake has been a massive supporter for us and if you are a fan of Norwich City or local Norfolk history then his work is ideal. Also if you have an interesting family story then he is available to hire to bring that story to life!
Grant Perkins is a terrific artist. I have commissioned work and bought gift items from him before. He has a distinct style and his work covers a range of fandoms so give him a look!
Adventures of Lollipop Comics is a fun choice if you like educational series like Rainbow or The Magic School Bus with a bit of Peanuts character thrown in.

Gift vouchers can be handy if you know what someone likes and it lets them get an item or experience they wouldn’t normally get for themselves. However it is important to be practical- if a person doesn’t live near the specific shop or the expiry time is too limited then it may not be ideal for them.
Artwork commissions are a great way to create something personal. Joe Draco Petterson is just one example of the artists available on our Ko-Fi commission page.
When it comes to buying gifts it can be hard to find things that people either don’t already have, someone else already might get them or it’s something different they hadn’t necessarily thought of. By buying from a local shop, indie retailer or commissioning an artist/creative producer you are more likely to give someone something different.
True this is not always possible- but you can also buy interesting items in charity shops, buy charity cards and increasingly companies allow you to donate to charities when you pay by card.
It works the other way too- if you have bought too much or need to take something back consider donating to local charity shops and food banks (but check what they take first and always give it to them in the shop- don’t dump it outside!)
