#FundTheFinale is about more than just funding the release of the final issue of Reynard City Chronicles (though that is a big part of it!). This is also about finishing a story that started 17 years ago and giving it the sendoff it deserves, paying tribute to the people who made it happen and our plans for the future. So let’s break this down bit by bit!
What does #FundTheFinale mean?
Most recently we’ve released Reynard City Chronicles issue 8 (The Void Pt 1) , available alongside the other issues in the series. Our final issue (Reynard City Chronicles issue 9: The Void Pt 2) is scheduled for release in September 2025.
On a basic level, if we hit our £500 target this will give us the means to support issue artist BlueIke, a print run and book our table at Norcon (See our 2024 report video below!)
The more money we raise, the more we can do. We have had people approaching us offering their services for commissions. While we always want to support artists, the more funds we have the more we can give artists work.
On a side note, we have had people ask “How do you find artists?” So we decided to do a video to help with that too (Also we’ve included some below!)
#FundTheFinale Promotion
#FundTheFinale not only means support for our artists but also local and independent businesses. We also have four special £50 sponsor slots, allowing you to promote your work and grow our creative project. You can get your slot here.
In addition to an ad in the issue itself, your ad will be featured in social media, videos and event promotion. As someone who has worked to promote a business, I want to do the utmost to give people value for money promotion.
#FundTheFinale cameo package
Throughout the Reynard City Chronicles series, we have helped fund our artists with a special cameo package. This is where people pay to get a cameo appearance in the issue (in addition to other bonuses such as exclusive previews, the full digital collection and special gift packages).

Coming soon
Previous funding targets have meant we will soon be getting an animated trailer thanks to Jimferno. It’s been slightly delayed as we had to work with some audio issues but we are nearly there. If you want a preview you can donate to our Ko-Fi , Patreon or Paypal

#FundTheFinale What comes next?
Almost every time I say issue 9 will be the final issue in the series people ask me “What are you going to do afterwards”. The other thing they ask is “Why issue 9? Why not 10?” (The answer- Because this is the point where we’re ending the story and we want to wrap it up).
In terms of what comes next, the big factor will depend on how much support we get. We have been so lucky with the incredible people who have made it possible to support both our creative team as well as local and independent businesses.
An ambition I’ve always had is to do an animated series. In recent years, indie animation has grown and become more of a possibility then it was years ago (and believe me, we tried!)
But even now, a project still needs time and money. We can make it happen- we have the talent for it but with the story finished we would be able to give it more focus. As we hit more goals, we could also have the means to get more fabulous voiceover and other talent to add to the already fabulous team.
But this also means we need to see that the demand is there and we want to prove that the demand is there. So I have a favour to ask you all- if you buy a comic, donate (from as little as £1) or post Reynard City fanart (check our Deviantart page for Fanart Friday contest updates) please post something with the hashtag #fundthefinale
With your help, a positive push can let people know that Reynard City: The Series is something you want to see. Too often the focus is on what people don’t want or putting pressure on people who don’t care. I would love to see people help spread the love I see from our amazing team and fabulous supporters.
