Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Eddie Porter and I live in sunny LA with my wife, my wild toddler and another baby on the way. For the past 11 years I have been working in the visual effects industry in both NYC and LA, and the past 6 months I have been moonlighting as an indie comic creator during my free time. My goal is to take the stories that have been living in my sketchbook and let them loose upon the world!

What is the comic about?
Stroper is a science fiction story with a retro vibe and an 80’s color palette. It blurs the lines between good and evil and leaves you somewhere in the middle. Rayguns, mullets, bubble helmets and bad attitudes equal Stroper. Our hero Pak Booker is trying to make a living in a corrupt galaxy, resorting to a life of crime as a Stroper (A poacher of endangered alien species).
Imprisoned in the Bo’ak 5 prison mines, Pak seeks revenge on the people that locked him away. However, his story is not as straightforward as it appears, and his journey for redemption has only just begun.
What inspired the comic and who influences you?
My inspiration for this comic has come from various influences in my life. The love of storytelling is the main inspiration. Followed by 80’s cinema to the Spider-Man and X-Men comics I poured myself into as a kid. The people that influence me are all the indie creators and film makers, that hustle everyday to get their art out into the world.

What are your ambitions for the comic?
At the moment my ambitions are small and a bit focused. As I would love for this story to reach thousands of readers, my hope is that it reaches a few hundred, and that those few hundred enjoy the story and visuals I have laid out for them.
If you could invite any five people for a dinner party (dead or alive) who would they be?
Steve Jobs
Martin Luther King Jr
Hunter S. Thompson
Walt Disney
Tupac Shakur
Who would you have on your superhero team?
Venom
Wolverine
Spawn
Batman
Is there anything you would like to add?
