#KoFiChallenge Goals

Ko-Fi recently put up a #KoFiChallenge about goals, so now seems like the perfect time to discuss what our goals are, both in the short term and long term. Also got some news for issue 6 in here too!

1. Norcon 24-25th September

I was so impressed that we managed to meet one of our goals already, getting issue 5 ready ahead of schedule for Norcon!
For those of you who don’t know, Norcon is an annual sci-fi convention held at the Royal Norfolk Showground and it is one of my fave cons! Aside from local bias, there is the great community feel, the location as well as some great guests and catching up with friends.

This time around, AJ Deane (voice of Guillermo, El Paso Grande and Humiliator) will be joining me on our table, where we will be selling all five issues of the comic (look out for an upcoming blog where you can preorder the comic so it’s there waiting for you on the day!)

By backing our Ko-Fi, you help us achieve one of our goals, which is to raise more money for our artists by selling comics on the day and reducing our costs.

2. Pitching to Nickelodeon

In terms of goals, this is a big one, a life’s ambition. I have every intention of completing the 9 issues of this comic series (more on that later) but an animated series is something I would love to do. There is more on info on the pitch process here if you are interested.

In terms of our pitch, I will be putting together something for the deadline, but the more help we can get the better. Here are a few things that you can do that could turn Reynard City into a cartoon.

1. Buy the comic- it’s that simple. The more people buy it, the more we can do in terms of promotion. Shop page is right here. You can also donate via Ko-Fi, Patreon, Paypal and Deviantart.
2. Share the comic- Let people know about it. Like the videos on our update and comic channels, comment and subscribe. Likewise on social media, letting people know about us helps spread the word (only thing I ask is please keep it positive and focus on the comic, not comparing to other things!)
3. Get involved- I am looking for people who would like to give quotes, whether on camera or something we can put into a video. Likewise, the more fanart we can get, fanfic etc, it all makes a difference. If you want to be a part of this, you can either email reynardcity@gmail.com or use the contact form.
4. Got something you want to promote? We have an advertising package and this will also give us more funds to push the project further.

On a side note, we have also been posting a poll and would like your thoughts- as much as I enjoy doing reviews, they are the lowest rated videos on our Youtube update channel. So I am considering making them a Patreon exclusive, please give us your thoughts (link below)

So I'm considering making reviews @Patreon exclusive (get the lowest views but I do enjoy doing them) as it would mean the Update channel would focus more on comic videos (which seem to get more views anyway). What do you think?

Issue 6 update

Finally in terms of goals, one of the biggest for me is to complete Reynard City Chronicles as a series. My intent was always to have this as a complete series, something along the lines of Akira where you could have a full volume on your shelf.
While it may change, one of my goals is to have nine issues available that will represent a story with a beginning, middle and end.
Next issue will be the sixth issue and the setup for the final big arc of the series (we’ve effectively had two already in issues 1-5)
I am happy to confirm that we have three returning artists for this- the fantastic Capitaine Renard, Emily Bandicoot and DaneIke. With regard to a release date, the aim will be to once again get it out before September next year!
