For each of the Reynard City Chronicles issues so far, we have partially funded our artists with cameos in each issue. For those of you who missed it, here is the blog announcing our two-art comic finale!
At the time of writing, we have three slots available for a cameo appearance in Reynard City Chronicles issue 8. Cameos can range from background posters, items in scenes, crowd scenes and even potentially supporting characters! Special thanks to Kit Knightwood for taking up the first slot, we really appreciate your support.
Issue 8 is scheduled for September 2024. By backing this package you not only get a cameo but also additional updates, a signed print copy of issue 8, digital copies of issues 1-7 and money being given to the fabulous BlueIke, who is working hard on this issue!
But that’s not all!
We are also working on an animated issue 7 trailer. Working with our main animator Jimferno with assistance from MercenaryMaster and our ever-awesome voice cast (including a possible special guest TBC), this will be an animated trailer for Reynard City Chronicles issue 7.
At time of writing, we have three slots left, special thanks to Rev701 for taking the first animation cameo slot. Rev has been an amazing supporter for us and it means a lot to us!
At present, we are at 34% of our target goal. We have been so grateful to everyone who has helped us hit previous goals. This one is especially important, not just in terms of giving work to our team but also in terms of the next step of the Reynard City project.
When are we going to see a Reynard City animated series?
Hitting this goal is about more than just raising money for the project (though that alone is important as a lot of people have worked hard on this project and deserve support). For the longest time, people have asked “When can we see a Reynard City animated series?”
I would love a Reynard City animated series and I’m happy to see that the indie animation scene is flourishing at the moment, especially as animators have had issues with studios when trying to get projects off the ground.
Make no mistake- producing an animated series is hard. People who have had more experience in this have told me about the amount of time and money that can go into even the simplest of shorts and pilots.
Therefore I want to make sure that if we go for it then we’ll be able to tell this story in the way that we want to and a big part of that will be going through the process. What I am hoping is that this trailer is the start.
Of course, the first priority will be finishing Reynard City Chronicles itself. While getting an animated series would be amazing, it is vital that we give these characters and our fabulous readers the send-off that they deserve. By backing this (whether through a cameo or other means) you are sending out the message- “I want to see this!”
Special thanks
This project doesn’t exist without the incredible people who create the art, keep the website up and any number of other contributions, which is why we created the Meet The Team and Special Thanks playlists, so you too can learn all about the folks who made this project real.
