Reynard City Liverpool Comic Con 2026 Report

After the awesome time we had at OLL 2026 we arrived at Liverpool Comic Con for a very special reason!

A different event

First of all, Liverpool is a fantastic city. Would love to spend more time exploring it but got to see quite a bit through my uncanny ability to get lost and then use the data gathered to then get my bearings (something that came in handy when I actually had to find the Liverpool comic con venue).

The Docklands

Liverpool Comic Con was based in the Docklands area. Have to say even before we got to the venues (plural!) the big wheel and the area around the Docklands was pleasing to walk around in general.

The two main places were the Exhibition Hall and the M and S Bank Arena with three colour coded areas (Red, Blue and Green). It took a little getting used to but there were people on hand to help us out.

A lot going on

Liverpool Comic Con had a lot going on- exhibitors, guests, shows (everything from a Dr Who quiz, wrestling to a K Pop Demon Hunters concert)

It was a lot to take in and we enjoyed it. But again we come back to the special reason why we were there.

Special guest

With all due respect to George Buza (Beast), Cal Dodd (Wolverine), Ross Marquand (Professor Xavier), Billy West (Futurama), Phil Lamarr (Futurama), Gillian Anderson (X-Files) and so many more but there was one for me that was special for a few reasons.

When I lost my weekend warehouse job I was very low. When Lenore Zann (voice of Rogue, Canadian MP) followed me it helped me through a difficult time.

I got my photo. I stumbled to get words out but just about managed to get words out, gave shoutouts from Canadian folks I know (shoutout Amanda McKnight, Zack and Elie!) and gave some Reynard City comic packages.

Lenore Zann was very cool and patient with me despite my stumbling as I tried to talk and then stand still for a photo.

A special gift

Emily Bandicoot is a fabulous artist who produced these special commission pics- The X-Men mutants in the Reynard City style!

We included this as part of gift packages for Lenore Zann, George Buza and Cal Dodd (Sorry Ross Marquand I forgot you were there, message me if you’d like a comic!)

Will anything come of this? I can’t answer that.

What I can say is that a lot of people who worked hard on this project and deserve all the support I can give them.

But on top of that this was a chance to give a thank you to the people who helped inspire this project. X-Men is up there in terms of my fave all-time cartoon series (can’t wait for X-Men 97 season two!)

Getting to work on this has been my pleasure for years but now is our chance to make something that could inspire people in future!

Anyway in short- Loved Liverpool Comic Con, the city is great, definitely recommend!
