It is a question we are often asked- “How does Reynard City make money?”

Advertise art by Natalie Knowles
The answer as you might expect is a bit more complex- as a webcomic, a lot of the content we produce is free, so money is not made on the actual comics. However with the reboot we have had to change a few things, both in order to improve funding and to help support a wider array of people.

Sponsors help us because we can get that money direct to our artists, while at the same time helping with costs (eg printing, travel to cons etc). There is also the benefit of contacts and networking (especially in the case of Norwich Kitty). You can sponsor the comic for £25 a month, or for one off events such as Norcon, more info on the advertising page.
Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding has helped us in different ways- Kickstarter allowed us to print comics for the first time and get to events we couldn’t go to before, such as London MCM and LFCC. Patreon has helped by giving us a regular budget that can be passed on to artists, while we’ve added Ko-Fi as another option for people to donate money as a one-off, as well as the Paypal link.
With your help, we can achieve a lot- if every Twitter follower donated $1, we could have $5000, so any amount is very gratefully received!
Payback
As well as money for our artists we want to encourage other artistic talents as well, commissioning and getting them work as much as we can, especially when it comes to local businesses like print firms. Furthermore we regularly donate to charities, such as BiscuitJill’s biscuit donations for the Big C cancer centre and merchandise to local charity shops.
Green Farm Coffee are a Norwich based company that have created the Roma blend and we have added this exclusive pack to our Patreon, Ko-Fi and Paypal gifts, we are also working on something with Saffire Chocolates and some ideas with other local businesses soon (watch this space). We also work with other brands as well such as the fantastic Badge Base.

With the launch of Reynard City Chronicles this year, we are set to see better artwork, a more gripping storyline and a bigger push to get it out there. The more support we get, the better we can make this. Whether you back the Patreon, sponsor the comic, create fan art, like and subscribe to our YouTube channels or share our pages, it all makes a difference and we are massively grateful.
