What is Reynard City?
Reynard City is an online comic about three superhero foxes that come to Earth to stop an evil robot fox and various surreal adventures ensue.
Why did you reboot it?
In simple terms, we had some problems working on the original series and wanted to address feedback we got from readers, improving the story, artwork and the overall operation of how we run things.
Why do you need the Kickstarter?
Our £6000 target has been set up to cover:
► Production of the rebooted comic including payment for the artists and printing costs
► Production of merchandise such as T-shirts that will give us revenue to keep the comic going and make it sustainable.
► More promotion including launching the comic at London MCM (Our aim is October 2017)
► Funds to cover production of the rewards, including a short film to be produced with local creative talent in the Norwich area, something I feel is important.
Risks and challenges:
In terms of risk, we have been through this.
We have had artists pull out before and this is why we are taking steps in this Kickstarter to have a specific amount set aside for the people working on the project and a clear gameplan for it. We want to make the best possible comic, both for the people who have been kind enough to support us for the last few years and to give the best experience to new readers.
In effect any project comes with risk but we have the benefit of experience and this time around we hope to produce something special!
