We were asked by Patreon backer “What about a Reynard City animated series?”
Well, it was an interesting question to ask, but it also covers a lot of issues, so we posted a video on it!
However, I also wanted to talk a bit about it here and what you can do to make it happen!
How would you pitch a Reynard City animated series? Comment below!
The proposed project section
We worked on the animated project for a few years, alongside a video game, radio drama and other ideas. In some respects, this was part of what went wrong with it- we were trying to focus on too much at the same time.
That being said, we did manage to get a great team together and you can still access the concept art, voice acting samples and video game sprites in our Patreon (Just $1 a month for this perk, more info here)
The experience was great- Using my Dad’s converted store as a makeshift studio, Mum making food, working at the Seagull Theatre in Lowestoft, it was worth it.
We still work with actors (Such as Hayley Evenett voicing/editing the AK Girl Q and A video below) and definitely would love to do more work with them.
What about a web series?
Another question we have been asked is “What about a webseries?”
Don’t get me wrong, if someone would want to do that, I would love it. The thing would be we would need someone who would fit our style, would be able to make something within a reasonable time frame and if we had the budget to work with them (Realistically, you want someone to be able to focus and a big part of that is being able to give them funds).
If you are an animator and you would be up for this we would love to hear from you and discuss this in more detail!
Things I would personally like
OK this is more a couple of elements I’d personally like in a series.
1. A traditional 2D animation style- Don’t get me wrong the 2012 Ninja Turtles CGI looked great, but something like the 2011 Thundercats reboot would be perfect.
2. Our team- Hayley Evenett has shown great passion for the role of AK Girl, so would want to keep her on. Having our own team would be cool to give the show its own feel.
3. Cameos- That being said, having cameos from the likes of Roger Craig Smith or Colleen O’ Shaughnessey would be amazing, similar to how Adam West appeared as the Grey Ghost in the Batman animated series.
4. A complete story- Like with the comic, it would be good to do a complete story, don’t want to end on a cliffhanger!
How can we make this happen?
The one thing you will notice with a lot of animated series is they tend to have some kind of original source, whether it’s a toy line, film or an earlier series that gets rebooted.
Don’t get me wrong- I want Reynard City Chronicles to be a brilliant comic that people will be able to enjoy on its own merits. But in order to do that, we need to get it out there. By liking videos, sharing links and buying the comic you will help get it out there.
My aim is to produce a complete volume that people can appreciate from start to finish. With your help we can make this happen.
This then has a further knock on effect- if we can sell more comics, get more support, we can go to more conventions, meet more people, make more connections. This means that we can start talking about an animated series and other possible projects as an option.

Already, we have an amazing group of people working on this and we have over 100 people who have subscribed to the channel and 17 people generous enough to put money down on a regular basis. If you want this to happen, then the best thing to do is be positive, share this and let people know why you like it.
