Last week talked about AK Girl, this week we are talking about what Wondervixen means to me. While there are some parallels (both Sal and Vibes suffer from trauma in a number of ways) what Sal goes through is different in a number of ways. Please note- we must ask that people are respectful in the comments, we will delete anything we consider inappropriate.
Who is Wondervixen?
Before we can talk about what Wondervixen represents, it helps to know who she is. To start, here is her character profile.
A number of people have given their thoughts on what Wondervixen represents as a character but also in terms of what she means to them personally. RayeRayeChan offered an interesting perspective from a design point of view as well as in terms of her character.
Hollie-Harrington Ball offered her perspective when it came to approaching voice work for both Wondervixen and Perfect Platinum.

Author Dr Jessica Ruth Austin also provided her perspective on how Wondervixen contrasts with other characters in the superhero genre.

Susie Gander has been a regular contributor to Reynard City pretty much from the start so her views on this are worth listening to.

Body dysmorphia is a real thing
One of the most difficult aspects of writing this character are some of the issues drawn from real life. As shown in the video at the top I have had to deal with similar issues myself. While people can be supportive it is hard to explain that this can often not be enough.
Below is a video that provides a bit more insight into this condition as well as more information on the condition.
When I talk about what Wondervixen represents I hope is that people see and can relate to her struggle. It is not as simple as “beautiful person sees herself as ugly on the inside”. It is tied to trauma and difficult issues that she has to learn to face and most importantly to seek help.
While the comic is intended to be a fiction and therefore a heightened version of this, we hope people appreciate that it is done out of love, both for the character but also hopefully for people who could benefit from seeing a character with similar struggles.
No promotion today
We will be discussing the Perfect Platinum Collection Special Edition later this week but for now the main focus is the wider issues brought up with this. In the meantime, we end with the usual request to seek our special thanks playlist to thank the people who make this project possible.
