New contest- Design your own OC

One thing I love seeing on Deviantart etc are OCs (original characters). It’s been a while but the last time we did a design your own OC contest we had some fantastic entries, plus we have had people do some great fanart featuring their own which we wanted to share here to give you some ideas.

Designing your OC

First of all have a look on the character profiles on the site here

This gives you some idea of how to put together your character’s profile.

We will need a picture so we have an idea of how the character looks (we’re using AK Girl as an example)

Next up the details of the character

Name: AK Girl aka Vibes McAllister (not her real name)

Strengths/powers: Various power modes drawn from her mind

Weakness: Inflates on contact with caramel, requires focus in order to make her powers work

Bio: Vibes McAllister was born on the planet Animal Kingdom.  Growing up her parents became aware of her psychic powers but were killed by the orders of criminal overlord Dante Rodriguez. She was sent to Mike’s Dojo, an orphanage/school for children with psychic abilities. Unfortunately after an incident where her powers went out of control her sensei Mike was forced to put in a control to restrict her power.

Now Vibes alongside her friends Guillermo and Sal (aka Hyper Rob and Wondervixen) with assistance from mechanic Rotecol, chef Monsieur Tux and alternative therapist/shaman Dr Antibiotix uses her power to fight the forces of Mega Fox.

Just to be clear this is an example- your OC can be a hero, a villain, an anti-hero, someone who helps or hinders. They don’t necessarily need to be foxes. What we ask is you imagine how your character would fit in- they shouldn’t be invincible!

Rules

First of all we want YOUR OCs- please don’t use characters that are already established in other franchises and stories (if you do want to do that this is what the roleplay forum is for!)

Also please keep it to one entry and develop that character- if you already have your own OC you can enter them but if so tell us how they would be a part of the Reynard City story. If we use the character in future stories we will contact you first, but feel free to use them in your own fanfic, fanart, comics, videos, cosplay etc!

Finally most people are sensible about this but make sure you keep it PG/PG13- darker characters can work but we don’t want excessive violence/swearing/adult content in there.

You can post your contest entries where you want- this can be on Twitter, Deviantart, Instagram or Facebook. If you do please make sure you make it clear (for example on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook tag in @ReynardCity or on Deviantart  include Reynard City in the name). Alternatively you can email it to us reynardcity@gmail.com

As with previous contests we will be using a neutral judge to pick the winner. If you are selected we will contact you so if we ask please supply us your email and postal address so we can send you prize!
