Reynard City Character Profiles: Heroes

Vibes (AK Girl), Sal (Wondervixen) and Guillermo (Hyper Rob) all fought in the battle to stop Mega Fox taking over the planet Animal Kingdom before Mega Fox was called out to take over the Earth. They followed him through the warp and this is where the story gets a bit more complicated (don’t worry, we’ll get to that!)

AK Girl

Vibes came to Earth unaware of her past as “future saviour of the universe” AK Girl. But an incident with a caramel muffin soon brings back some traumatic memories. She might be a bit cheeky and a bit too keen on showboating but Vibes is dedicated to her friends and will always fight for them and Reynard City.

Hyper Rob

Guillermo witnessed his father (the gangster overlord Dante Rodriguez) violently assault a man. It was then he realised that he had to fight his father’s empire and injustice in general, something that became more important as Dante’s team of scientists created Mega Fox who subsequently killed Dante and took over the planet Animal Kingdom. Now he desperately seeks his love Sal while at the same time working with Vibes to stop Mega Fox doing to Earth what he did to their home planet.

Wondervixen

On the surface, Sal looks the embodiment of the superhero- bold, beautiful but combine with a ruthless and brutal edge. But underneath that surface, Sal is dealing with very real issues as she tries to address what happened to her and the city of New Jamestown.

Anty, Mark and Rotecol

Anty (aka Dr Antibiotix) provides therapy and special potions, the grouchy Rotecol is a mechanic with a neat sideline in handy gadgets while Mark is Vibes’ former manager and has helped Vibes and her crew set up their indie music studio (and is also Vibes’ boyfriend, which is where things get a little…complicated!)

Reynard City Character Profiles: Villains

As stated earlier Mega Fox was created by Dante Rodriguez. He was created to maintain order but when he saw the chaos created by Rodriguez and his goons Mega Fox decided that he was better poised to take control. This aroused the attention of The Consortium, a group of alien species all dedicated to taking over the universe. Aware that the different groups were struggling to work together, Mega Fox became the commander of their forces.

On Animal Kingdom, Squirmy was Mega Fox’s second in command but he was lost when Mega Fox landed on Earth (there’s more to it than that but…well spoilers!) Once on Earth, Mega Fox gathered his forces, including the surly former caterer Caramel Girl and ditzy henchwoman Insect Girl as well as assistance from the mercurial gatekeeper of the dimension between time and space Warp King (again, more to it than that but you’ll see in the comic).

So far it seems like a straight forward battle between good and evil. But as you’ll see in our teaser trailers, there’s a little more to it than that…

We are working with our fantastic voice acting cast plus animator Jimferno (with assistance from artist MercenaryMaster) on an animated issue 7 trailer. Donating to this project will not only mean supporting these excellent creative talents but will be the first step towards us working on an animated project.

A lot of people have said how much work and money goes into producing indie animation. A Reynard City animated series is a lifelong dream for me but equally would be a great tribute to everyone who has made this project possible. The team is working on the project but the more you can support it, the more we can do.

Also BlueIke is currently working hard on Reynard City Chronicles issue 8, which will be the first part in the series finale. We hope to be finished by September but again anything you can contribute will be a fantastic help.

Finally there isn’t room to give shoutouts to everyone who has made Reynard City a real thing. They include fabulous artists like Susie Gander, Nicholas Webb, Strider Syd, Jed Soriano, Elie Renard Delisle-Lafortune, Joe Draco Petterson, Emily Bandicoot, Anon, ElBunny, GreyofPTA, Kendall Collins and so many more. John Paul Guerra works on our comics channel , did some fab stories and art as well as our roleplay forum.

Hayley, Hollie, AJ, Helen, Joanna, Ivan, Moira, Mr Grizzly Gamer and all our voice actors have all helped make the comic come alive. Van Hikari, Steakokidney, Rev701, Joe The English Otter, Syos The Squirrel, Edward Couzens-Lake, Cinema City Norwich, Kit Knightwood, Jeff Dwoskin, Sebastian Dorn, Gizzy and so many other wonderful supporters.
